Handling a child’s anger is a complex task. After speaking with a child psychologist, I’ve learned that anger in kids isn’t just a simple mood swing. 

It’s a signal of deeper issues, like feeling mistreated or hurt.

Remember a moment when you were really angry? It felt valid at that moment, right?

But helping kids deal with anger healthily is essential. Here are three phrases parents should use with their angry children:

“I get why this is upsetting you, and I’m ready to help.”

While adults might downplay anger, for kids, it can be powerful and feel deeply unfair. Acknowledging and empathizing with their feelings is vital. This approach helps them handle their emotions more effectively.
