What Do Dermatologists Eat for Glowing Skin

Everyone knows the basic morning skincare routine – cleanse, apply a serum, and don’t forget that sunscreen. But did you know your morning munchies could be a game-changer for your skin?

Dr. Nada Elbuluk from USC Keck School of Medicine mentioned to TODAY.com, “Your skin’s like a mood ring for your insides, reflecting how healthy your diet is.” Although there’s no magic food to cure every skin issue, certain breakfast choices can make a difference.

Diving into how diet plays with skin health, Dr. Shasa Hu from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine said it’s a bit tricky to pin everything down scientifically. But there are some pretty clear connections.

For instance, going crazy on vitamins won’t necessarily boost your skin, but lacking them can cause issues. Think skin problems from not getting enough vitamin B12.

Another intriguing find? Dairy, especially the skimmed kind, might be tied to acne. And those sugary breakfast delights? They might not be doing your pores any favors. On the other hand, diets filled with fresh produce, lean protein, and good fats, like the Mediterranean diet, seem to have the thumbs-up for skin health.
